The Black Mental Health Matters is an emotional justice movement responding to the need for healing and emotional support systems for Black community members.
Our goal is to expand mental health awareness, destigmatize mental health, and to fight for health equity through intentional outreach, education and conversation. We are a movement led for and by Black individuals.
New advocates and supporters always welcome.
This movement is led by a planning committee that is open to the public. Meetings are voluntary and you are welcome to listen or get involved to whatever degree you have the emotional or physical capacity. We are happy to share space with you.
Email Jeffrey at firstname.lastname@example.org to be invited to future planning meetings or for any more information.
Join the Black Mental Health Matters Online Group or our monthly peer-led community gathering "Your Black Matters". Both are spaces for Black community members to connect with one another, support each other, share resources, knowledge, and build resilience together.
Peer Support Space is created in order to provide peer support, we are not a clinical program and do not offer medical treatment of any kind.
