All groups are non-clinical and are ran by a peer with lived experience in the group's topic. Peer-led support groups offer an additional, complimentary option to an individual's wellness choices where they can come together with others experiencing similar struggles in a nonjudgemental, uplifting environment.
We host peer support roundtables, trainings, and offer professional development resources for current and aspiring Certified Recovery Peer Specialists across Central Florida, serving as the central hub to share resources, combat compassion burnout, and to use our collective voices to advocate for the peer recovery movement.
Our panels and events are set up to fight the stigma that stops individuals from seeking help while focusing on unique challenges and forms of stigma within historically marginalized populations. If there is a topic you think our community could benefit on being educated on with a panel, please email info@peersupportspace.org
We are excited to soon be hosting trainings and workshops including Introduction to WRAP, Helping Others Heal, QPR, eCPR, CRPS Study Groups, and more to both assist peers in becoming Certified Recovery Peer Specialists, to support continued education for current Certified Recovery Peer Specialists and to promote broader community education surrounding mental wellness and recovery.
We are working towards establishing a community drop-in center where anyone can have a safe space to get
away and meet one-on-one with a peer specialist, expand on their chosen family, enjoy a meditation room, community garden, art activities, a self-help library lounge and more. Help us reach this goal by donating today. To donate supplies, please email Danielle@PeerSupportSpace.org
Our ultimate goal is to have a respite center that provides pre-crisis and wellness sustainability services. Providing a pre-crisis center where an individual is in charge of their recovery but simply has the guidance of Peer Specialists who have "been through it before" allows for an essential gap in our mental health system, between inpatient and outpatient services, to be filled. Donate now to make this vision come to life.
These services are made possible thanks to our supportive community! Together we change the culture surrounding recovery!
