Peer Support Space, a new grassroots nonprofit, opened Central Florida's first Peer-Led Drop-In Center in February 2020. Our goal is to extend our hours and launch our overnight respite services by 2021.

Why is this important? There are few preventative and sustainability services for mental health. Our Respite Center will be somewhere individuals can go when they are not doing well before they reach a point of crisis, a place they can stay overnight for up to 7 nights and be surrounded by trained peers that have their own experiences with overcoming mental health challenges. This will also be a space individuals can go after leaving a crisis unit when they may feel ready to take their treatment into their own hands but not quite ready to go home yet. Additionally, our Drop-In space will be a safe space to come where it is, "okay to not be okay" while building an ongoing support system and receiving various free mental health resources.

Peer Support Space was donated a building from Park Place Behavioral Health to provide the drop-in space and respite space services for the first time in Central Florida. While we have a building, we need to raise funds to extend our hours and launch our respite by 2021!

We just got the building, but we need your help to open.

As a community-led organization we rely on you, the community, so that we can help one another. There are many ways to help!

We love volunteers! Tell us how you want to get involved in helping and let us know if you have specific skills or services you would like to volunteer. For questions about volunteering please email

Help Us Reach Our Funding Goals

Your donation will see to it that those in the most need of support are getting it and that funding is not a limitation to helping. We are looking to raise $500,000 for one year of free respite services!

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for doing your part to help our community heal.
