Our usual community gatherings are available- just virtually.
Our in-person Drop-In services are temporarily unavailable.
We will be hosting a Community Support Call twice a day at 12PM and 6PM from Monday-Saturday.
Peer Support Space, as a community centered agency, has given great consideration to our response to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) public health situation. Our agency’s purpose and function is to provide peer-led, communal emotional support. As such, we want to address how we will continue to do this while prioritizing and respecting public safety. Because our community gatherings put our participants into close proximity to one another we have decided to temporarily postpone our in-person service to prioritize caution and protect potentially vulnerable persons from exposure. We will additionally be closing our Drop-In Space during this time.
We want to take this opportunity to lean into our resources and continue to show up for one another digitally and remotely.
We understand that many are facing job closure which puts a strain on finances, with school closures many are worrying about childcare, and further that our Asian community members are facing the additional exposure to racism. The culmination of these issues and their individually unique presentations can compound stress and take a toll on your emotional fortitude.
We want to emphatically assure that we are here with love and compassion for our community members in this time of unknown. You are invited to join our calls, which will mirror our community gatherings, in that they are a safe, affirming space for all to express themselves and find/give emotional support. We are mindful of the potentially isolating impact of this situation so we gently encourage you to lean into community and join us as we hold space in our hearts for one another during this time. Our compassion for you is not canceled, our empathy is not canceled, and our communal resilience will shine through despite what we are facing!
